Obituary of Margery Baker MacInnes

With sadness, we announce the death of Margery Baker MacInnes on Saturday, January 3, 2009. Margery lived her life fully and endured her recent illness with uncomplaining good humour. She enjoyed the companionship of many close friends, and over the years enjoyed playing bridge and physical activities such as skiing, tennis, golf and hiking. She was also passionate about her flower gardens and cooking. Her home was always warm and welcoming. Margery is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wallace, her daughters Kathleen Henderson (Mark) of Edmonton and Margaret Scobie (Jeffrey) of Calgary, her son John MacInnes (Dawn) of Calgary, her grandchildren Michael, Graham and Sarah Henderson, Carolyn and Susan Scobie, and Bayne MacInnes, and her brothers Douglas Baker and Morris Baker. She was predeceased by her parents Libby and Chester Baker and her beloved grandson Donald T. Scobie. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church Elbow Park (3602 – 8th Street S.W.) on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Donald Scobie Memorial Scholarship Fund (cheques payable to the University of Alberta), CW 223 Biological Sciences Building, U of A, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2E9 (Attention: Ms. Claudia Wood). The family is also grateful to the staff of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Palliative Home Care Response team for their wonderful aid.
