Obituary of Mervin L. Munroe

It is with sadness that the family of Merv Munroe announce his passing on Monday, January 5, 2009 at the age of 78 years. Merv was born in Cereal, AB and raised in Oyen, AB. He retired from Nova Corporation after thirty-one years of service. He and Kay enjoyed their retirement years, spending winters in Apache Junction, AZ. Throughout his life Merv was active in the Masons, Kinsmen K40 and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #285. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family. Merv passed away peacefully from cancer with his beloved wife Kay at his side. They were blessed with fifty-eight years of marriage, three sons, Kevin (Ruth), Cameron (Helen) and Greg; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Merv will be remembered by all of them as well as his brother Allan (Gwen) and many nieces and nephews. Merv was predeceased by his parents Annie and Howard; brother Ken; and sister Connie. A Celebration of Merv’s Life will be at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through .
