Obituary of Donald Aldous Williams

Don Williams of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the age of 71 years. Don was born in Calgary where he returned following several rural Alberta postings during his lengthy banking career. Upon retirement he developed a passion and talent for wood carving. Countless hours were spent carving on his deck at the Tall Timber R.V. Resort in Sundre. His abilities were soon recognized and led him to teach his craft to others. His interest in art then took him in another direction and a flair for canvas painting was revealed. He produced numerous wildlife and mountain scenes, which the family will continue to enjoy. Don is survived by his wife Joyce; daughter Teri (John); sister Dianne; brother-in-law Rod (Arlene); numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion Kailee. A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at the Southern Alberta Pioneer Memorial Building (3625 – 4 Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
