Obituary of Barbara Mary Sherrington
Barbara Sherrington died on December 27, 2008 after living with cancer for six and a half years, with her husband of 40 years, Peter, holding her hand.
Her family and many friends fondly remember her for her infectious love of life and the earth: its people, animals, trees, rocks and sunsets. This was strongly reflected in her career as an early childhood educator, in her music, poetry, painting and cooking, in her environmental, social and peace activism, and as a mother, grandmother, friend and colleague.
Our thanks for her wonderful life and smile will be celebrated in a Memorial Service at Christ Church Elbow Park (3602 – 8th Street S.W.) on Saturday January 3, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. Please bring your memories of Barbara to share.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Alberta Wilderness Association, P.O. Box 6398, Station D, Calgary, T2P 2E1. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
