Obituary of Irl Russell Garries

Irl Russell (White) Garries, beloved husband of Dorothy Garries of Calgary, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2008 at the age of 86 years. White was born August 8, 1922 in Stella, Nebraska. He immigrated to Bentley, Alberta in July 1930 with his family. White served his country in the RCAF as a bomb aimer overseas during WWII. Upon his return, White married Dorothy on June 11, 1949 in Calgary. White worked for thirty-one years with Alberta Livestock CO-OP as an accountant. White was very family oriented, and enjoyed to be in the company of his children. He especially loved to make an annual trip home to Bentley for the Annual Rodeo Days Parade. White is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Debra Garries. He was predeceased by his parents, Katie and Ralph Garries; brother, Red; sister, Hazel; son, Brian; and daughter, Debbie.
