Obituary of Margaret Bleviss

After having fought a courageous battle, Margaret Bleviss, beloved wife of Morris of Calgary, succumbed to cancer on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at the age of 62 years. Margaret was born in Brooklyn, New York, and having moved to Montreal, her life with her loving husband of thirty-two years took her to Denver, Los Angeles and Calgary. She enjoyed the challenge of a new city and gained delight in making new friends. She forged strong bonds which lasted throughout her lifetime. Educated as a teacher, she also enjoyed many years as children’s clothing designer and dental receptionist. She was an avid reader and an independent thinker with boundless energy. Margaret was an ardent volunteer and held leadership roles in support of Hadassah and Temple B’nai Tikvah. Besides her caring husband Morris, she is mourned by their children Joshua, Jonathan, and Diedre (Dominic Rubino), grandchildren Valencia and Joseph; her sister Elaine (Seymour Gewirtz); nephews Paul and Jonathan (Karen); brothers-in-law, Joey Belviss (Debbie), George van Wilde Rode; nieces Tammi (Jim McPhail) and Jodi (Tony Trovao), and an extended family in Quebec, and the eastern United States. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Julius L. and Lily Hendler. Funeral Services will be held at the B’nai Tikvah Synagogue (900 47th Avenue S.W.) on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Jewish Cemetery (30th Avenue & Erlton Street S.W.).
