Obituary of Lloyd GREGORY
1927-2005
Lloyd Gregory passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the age of 78 years.
Lloyd was raised on a farm in Ninga, MB and graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1949 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked in Ontario for a few years, Married Florence, and came to Calgary in 1959. Lloyd was employed by NuWest Development for twenty-five years. He was also a twenty-five year Charter member with the North Calgary Optimist Club. As a “Friend of Youth,” Lloyd participated in many activities for youth in the community. Lloyd enjoyed curling, golfing, and many summers at Windermere Lake with this family. Lloyd’s blue eyes and loving smile will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Florence; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dianne and Mike Oleynick, Donna Balyk, Lorna and Brent Waldman; three sons, Thomas, Robert and James; six grandchildren, Lana, Megan, Matthew, and Joel Balyk, along with Christopher and Aulora Oleynick; as well as his sister Kathleen Nicolson in Australia; and his many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Vina Mae Gregory (Smith) and Thomas Roy Gregory; his brother Arthur of Olds, AB; and his sister Barbara Cruickshank of Verdin, MB.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle N.W., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on
Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens where Lloyd will be laid to rest overlooking the mountains and the golf greens. The family would like to extend their thanks to the doctors, nurse and caregivers at the MDE Bethany Care Centre, for the excellent care given. They were very patient and compassionate with Lloyd.
