Obituary of Diane Helen Farquharson

Diane Farquharson, cherished wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2008 at the age of 67 years. Diane was born on April 18, 1941 in Brownlee, SK and was the eleventh child in a family of thirteen children. Diane moved to Calgary in 1963 and married Graham Farquharson, to whom she was happily married for forty-four years. She guided her family with love, kindness and protection. Diane loved entertaining and hosting family celebrations, she always took special care of everyone who walked through her door. Diane and Graham travelled to many exotic locations through out the world and established many lasting friendships with fellow travellers. She also enjoyed creating crafts, watching old movies and spending time with her family and friends. Her family will sorely miss her. Besides her loving husband Graham, Diane is survived by her daughter Arlene; her son and daughter-in-law Gordon and Arlene; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Diane, Ryan, Kyle, and Jared; her sisters, Dorothy, Rose, Nina, and Darlene; her brothers, Gerry, Clare and Wilfred; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Diane was predeceased by her parents Aldine and John McLean; sister Joyce; and brothers, Ron, Norm, Ivan, and Jack. A Celebration of Diane’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
