Obituary of Peter John Patrick Flanagan

Pat passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2008 with his family at his side at the age of 84 years. Pat was born in Prince Albert, SK and raised in Melfort, SK. He attended the U of S in Saskatoon where he earned an engineering degree. He served in the air force, stationed in Watson Lake, BC and also worked for Ford and H.M. Trimble and Sons (Trimac) during his career. Pat married Beatrice Hattenburg in 1950 and they raised three sons, living in Regina, SK and Moose Jaw, SK until he was transferred to Calgary in 1964. Pat was a kind and gentle man who cared for his family. He will be remembered for the many camping and fishing trips with the family over the years. Pat leaves behind two sons, Patrick Jr. and Michael Timothy (Debbie); grandchildren, Cody and Lindsay (Will MacDonald); as well as great-granddaughter Hannah Flanagan-MacDonald. He is also survived by sisters, Maureen Flanagan and Colleen Gilliland (Bob); brother Herb Flanagan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Peter; wife Beatrice; son Kelly; and brother Terry. We would like to thank the staff at the Beverley Glenmore for the excellent care they provided over the four years that Dad was a resident.
