Obituary of James Buehler

Jim Buehler of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the age of 59 years. Jim was born in Lethbridge, and moved to Calgary at the age of fourteen. He graduated from Western Canada High School, attended the University of Calgary and received his AACI in real estate appraisal in 1980. Jim owned and operated J. A. Buehler Appraisal Ltd. for over thirty years. Jim lived his life like he managed his business, with honesty and integrity. Jim excelled at everything he attempted and always took pride in his work; however, the one thing he was most proud of was his family. His daughters would always say they had the “Best Dad”. Jim was a total extrovert and could strike up a conversation and share a laugh with anyone. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed traveling to Carlsbad, California every year. His spirit of adventure and love of travel took him and his family to places all across North America which brought him immense joy. He will be dearly missed by his best friend and wife of thirty-eight years, Mary; and his daughters Lynn and her husband Phil Gair and Cara Buehler and her husband Andy Buchwitz. Jim also had a close bond with his mother-in-law, Blanche. He was and will always be our hero. “We hold you close within our hearts And there you will remain To walk with us throughout our lives Until we meet again.” Jim fought cancer with great determination and tenacity. He never allowed it to stop him from loving and living his life to the fullest. Jim was predeceased by his father Alfred, his mother Mabel and his brother Ralph.
