Obituary of Dora Bayerle

Dora Bayerle of Calgary, passed away quietly, surrounded by family on November 24, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Dora was born in Berlin, Germany and immigrated to Canada in July 1953. She began her career as a Mechanical Draftsman in Germany, then finishing her career in Calgary working twenty-five years in the Geological and Topographical Drafting field. She loved her work. She lived at Menno Gardens Apartment for twenty years where she made lifelong friends. Dora enjoyed providing volunteer help in Calgary hospitals and nursing homes, often in the companionship of good friend, Gladys Lipsett. For the last ten months she enjoyed life at the Renoir Retirement Residence whose care-giving staff provided loving and compassionate care. Oma was devoted to her family and will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Karen and her son-in-law Gordon Snell; grandchildren Ben, Anna and Jordan, Jacob and Shana; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Franklin; sister Margot Straka in Berlin, Germany and brother Hilmar Kummer in Calgary. Many family members and good friends of her extended Community of Christ family have predeceased Dora to the Glory of God. She believed in heaven and angels, two of which were her own, Regina in 1954 and Darron in 1959. A Celebration of Dora’s life will be held at Community of Christ Church (6415 Ranchview Drive NW) on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
