Obituary of James Edwin Haigh

James (Jim) Edwin Haigh of Lake Country, B.C. passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the age of 48 years. Jim was born in Windsor, Ontario on September 17, 1960 to his parents Pat Haigh (nee Kitson) and Ed Haigh. Jim loved sports, especially hockey, where he played in Windsor from the age of six through to eighteen. He also loved playing golf and spending summers at the family cottage in Muskoka waterskiing and swimming. Following high school, Jim graduated from St. Clair College in Windsor, where he majored in marketing and minored in accounting, after which Jim travelled out west. Jim was a very successful business man and mentor with Marks Work Wearhouse for more than twenty years. It was there that he met his wife Traci and made numerous friends and colleagues. Those who knew Jim say he was a man of vision and character and they became a better person for having known him. Jim was a man who would do anything for anybody and had a smile that became forever etched in our hearts. He was well respected and loved by all that knew him and will be sadly missed by his family, extended family and many friends. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Traci and their daughter, Stephanie of Lake Country; his daughters, Kirstin and Brittany Haigh of Calgary; his mother Pat (David) Senior of Calgary; father-in-law Harold Trottier of Calgary; his sister Lisa (Tony) Bergevin of Cochrane; nephews, Paul and Bradley Bergevin; sister Ruth (Michael) Paterson of Calgary; brother Paul Sr. (Sue) of Parksville, BC; and uncle Jack (Victoria) Kitson of Windsor, Ontario. Jim was predeceased by his father Edwin Haigh in June 1998 and by grandparents, Ed and Eslyt Haigh, and Jack and Sarah Kitson. Jim will also be fondly remembered and sadly missed by close friends, Louis Sbrozzi, Mark McGrath, Jimmy Smith, Jeff Stott, Doug Young, Jock Wilson, Butch Deadmarsh, Dean Sampson, Steve Bottoms and their families and many more friends and colleagues. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North)on Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through .
