Obituary of Kenneth John Collins

Ken Collins, beloved husband of Irene Collins of Mirror, AB, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2008, after a sixteen year battle with cancer, at the age of 76 years. Ken was born on December 25, 1931 in Toronto, ON. Since then Christmas has always been a double holiday for him. Ken’s life was devoted to aviation which began in 1951 while he served in the Air Force until 1965. Ken then worked as a maintenance engineer. He had twenty years of experience as corporate pilot, worked as a flight instructor and following his retirement volunteered as an inspector of home built aircrafts. Ken flew one hundred and two types of aircrafts. He built a few airplanes and his last project, his favourite the “Delta”, was never finished for him to fly. Besides his loving wife, Ken is survived by two sons, Keith and Kirk, and his sister Beverley Hutson. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
