Obituary of Gabrielle Shaw
Gaye Shaw, beloved and wonderful wife of Gerry Shaw of Calgary, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2008 at the age of 75 years.
Gaye was born the youngest of three children. Lovely and graceful from the time she was born to the end of her life, her pleasures were always simple and her smile came easily. After she raised her sons, Gaye achieved success as an Aldermanic Assistant by applying her high ethical and professional standards to that role. Gaye was passionately interested in civic current events, constituent needs, and the best way to meet those needs.
Gaye was able to find beauty in nature and in things she transformed into furniture or decorations for her house and garden. Family, friends, cats, burgers, coffee, beer, vagabonding, needle work, and wildflowers were just a few things that Gaye loved. We will always remember her sitting in her den or lounging on the deck in the sun admiring her garden or stroking one of the many family cats they had over the years.
Besides her loving husband of fifty-four years, Gaye is survived by three sons, Arthur Shaw (Chris), Mark Shaw (Sheila), Kelly Shaw (Suzanne); two grandchildren, Chantel and Aaron. She is also survived by a brother Jerry McCord and his family; brother-in-law Ernie Crooks and his family. Gaye was predeceased by her parents, Anne and George McCord, a sister Shirley Crooks, and sister-in-law Patsy McCord.
