Obituary of Lawrence Raymond Ashley

Lawrence (Laurie) Raymond Ashley, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the age of 79 years. Laurie is survived by his loving wife Pauline, daughters Carol (Dave) Moore, Lynn (Mike) Delaney, and Donna (Steve) Coupland; daughter-in-law Tasha Stephenson; grandchildren, Christine (Mike) Doll, Mandi (Jesse) Henn, Natasha Delaney, Breanna Coupland, Kirianne Ashley; great grandchildren Eric Doll, Hannah and Abigail Henn. He was predeceased by his grandson Kevin Coupland in 2002 and his son Bruce Ashley in 2003. Laurie was a native Calgarian and was proud to serve with the Calgary Fire Department. He started his career in 1951 and after thirty-seven years of service, retired as a division chief in 1988. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, whose greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was always willing to lend a hand, earning the respect of all who knew him. We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the caregivers at Bethany Harvest Hills for the loving care given to Lawrence over the last four years.
