Obituary of Beverley Barton
Beverley Barton, beloved wife of Bill Barton of Calgary, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the Beverly Centre Lake Midnapore, on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the age of 74 years.
Beverley was born and raised in Calgary. Although stricken with MS at a young age she didn’t let her illness hold her back. Beverley was co-founder of Yoga for the physically challenged along with Margo Kitchen. She was instrumental with the MS clinics in Calgary that provided support to people and families inflicted with MS. Beverley’s weekly trips to Chinook Centre were always looked forward to by herself, her friends and the many Chinook Centre staff. She was a proud member of the Catholic Woman’s League at St. Bernadette’s Parish. Beverley easily developed many friendships along her journey of life with her radiant smile, her warm heart and kind words. She touched many people.
Besides are her loving husband of fifty-four years, Beverley is survived by her sons, David (Roberta), and Bruce; and her two grandchildren, David and Chris. She is also survived by a special niece Terry (Gerry); two great nieces, Krista and Jill, and numerous relatives, as well as her special friend Susan and many wonderful long time friends. Beverley was predeceased by her parents Edward and Elizabeth, and by her brother Wallace.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
