Obituary of Elizabeth Stephens

Elizabeth (Beth) Stephens, beloved wife of Ian Stephens of Cochrane, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2008 at the age of 69 years. Beth was born and raised in Drumheller and she and her family moved to Hanna when she was seventeen. She met Ian Stephens and in 1960 they married. Together they raised three sons and Beth found her creative outlet through sewing and an unending number of crafts. They enjoyed family outings, snowmobiling and their trips in the family bus. In 1975 the family moved to Calgary which put Beth closer to her sisters and brother. In 1998 Beth and Ian retired to Cochrane where they kept active with the Good Sam’s Trailer Club and shared in their passion for photography. Besides her loving husband, Beth is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ian Michael and Louise Stephens of Calgary, Varden and Pam Stephens of Cochrane and Jeff Stephens and Natalie Genois of Montreal, QC; six grandchildren, Robert, Kaelan and Courtney, and Joshua, Dylan and Sidney. She is also survived by her sisters Enid Proctor and her partner Melvin Schultz, Marion Smith, Margaret and Gordon Mowat, brother Alfred and Cathy Holliday; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Cochrane Funeral Home (369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB) on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 2:00 pm.
