It is with extreme sadness that the family announces the passing of George “Bud” Sarazen on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the age of 75 years. George passed away at home after a brief but difficult battle against Mesothelioma (Asbestos Cancer). He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife, Joan; son Joe (Diane); daughter Holly (Russ); and grandchildren Joe Jr., Steven, and Cali; and great grandson Daniel. He also leaves his brother Ed; sisters Barb (Jerry), Deanna (Norm) and Dixie (Bill); as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. George was predeceased by his son Daniel; parents Joe and Evelyn; and parents-in-law Charles and Amy Van Alstine. George “Bud” was the first baby born on New Year’s Day in 1933 in Regina, SK. He married Joan, the love of his life, on June 26, 1954, and was blessed with 54 years of love. George worked as a flooring installer, and in 1976, his son Joe joined him to carry on the family trade. George proudly worked beside his son at Millhouse Carpet Ltd. since 1987, and with his grandsons in the past few years. Most of all, George’s favourite past time was riding his motorcycle on warm days and venturing each summer through North America with his best friend Gord. George was a hard working family man and a devoted friend who would offer the shirt from his back. He exuded happiness with his smile and laughter to everyone who knew him.
