Obituary of Henry Schappert

Henry Jesse Valentine Schappert beloved husband of Helen Schappert of Crossfield, AB, passed away on October 16, 2008 at the age of 73 years. Henry was born September 13, 1935 in Langenburg, Sask. Henry achieved his Bachelor of Science in agriculture and Masters degree in Soils Science from the University of Saskatchewan. He married Helen on December 8, 1962 and they resided in Saskatoon, and later in Regina where Henry worked for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool; later for the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Board. Henry also farmed in the Langenburg district for many years, before coming to Crossfield to be closer to his children and grandchildren. Henry never could fully retire, pursuing his passion for home design and construction until the very end. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather, who was faithful to his God and devoted to his family. Survived by his loving wife Helen, daughter Michele Hollins and her daughters, Kacie and Jessica; son Kurt Schappert and daughter-in law, Kathy Yourth and their children, Jakob and Zoe; sisters, Mildred and Linda, Brother, Richard as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
