Obituary of Laura Marie HINER

February 4, 1949 – Norman, Oklahoma January 6, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Our dear Laura went to be in God’s hands unexpectedly on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the age of 68 years. Laura was truly a spark in the family, her love of family and togetherness was evident as she organized almost every family gathering. Laura was a talented and dedicated artist and pursued that path over the last several years. She was an avid golfer and loved to travel with her husband Terry, the destinations were often to Mexico, Arizona or off to their retreat in Radium, but they also ventured to more exotic destinations in Europe and Southeast Asia. Their time together, and the people they encountered, were often more important than the destinations they visited. Laura was a committed and giving member of her church community, where she served in numerous capacities over the years. She had an early career in banking, but moved to office administration to work alongside Terry for over 25 years in their accounting practice. She was a loving mother and wife, a caring grandmother, and a great supporter of her brothers, sisters and mother. She will be dearly missed by Terry, her husband and life partner of 47 years, as well as by her sons James (Julie) and Matthew (Julie); granddaughter Georgina, mother Elaine Peake, twin sister Linda McDonaugh (Bob), brothers Steve Peake (Donna), Ron Peake (Gay); sister Dianne Nakaska (Tim), and her many nieces and nephews, all in the Calgary area. Laura was predeceased by her daughter Corrine and her father John Peake.
