Obituary of Amelia Margaret Jones

Margaret Amelia Jones cherished mother, grandmother and sister passed away on Friday, October 10, 2008 at the age of 92 years Margaret was the middle child of nine, born and raised on the prairies in Youngstown, AB. She married Stuart in 1935 and they initially lived in several small Alberta towns and then Edmonton, Houston, Texas, Calgary and Banff until she and Stuart retired to Kelowna in 1979. They returned to Alberta in 2001. Margaret spent her life caring about and helping others. She was a small package with a huge heart always there for her large family and friends; quietly listening, caring and offering encouragement. She had a wonderful sense of style and colour and loved to cook and bake but her greatest talent was accepting what life offered her and helping others do the same. Margaret is lovingly remembered by her daughter Bev Becker; son-in-law Steve; and daughter-in-law Melissa; her grandchildren, Michael and Brittany Becker, John (Robbi) Jones, Rachael Jones and Evan Blandford. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley, Dorothy (Wilkie), Frances (Orton) and Marie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of sixty-four years, Stuart Jones in 2001; and son David in 1989, as well as siblings Raymond, Bill “Buster” and Anne Fuller. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and special caregivers of unit 73 of the Rocky View Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
