Obituary of Harry Shea

Harry Charles Shea beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many passed away in the arms of his loving family at the Carewest Sarcee Facility on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the age of 74 years. Harry was born in Rocky Mountain House and moved to Calgary at an early age where he met and married Rhea in October 1960. They settled in Regina for six years where both of their daughters were born and many life long friends were made. The family returned to Calgary in 1966. Harry was employed as a salesman and later as a regional sales manager for Bostitch where he thrived in his job for 35 years until 1990 when his illness shortened his career. Harry continued to find pleasure in his volunteer work at the Carewest Sarcee which lasted for over 40 years. He found enjoyment as an active member of the Alberta Pioneer Auto Club, participating in many show and shines with his 48’ Mercury pick-up. Harry found great satisfaction in his home and garden as well as his and Rhea’s many trips to Kananaskis. Harry is survived by his wife and dear friend, Rhea; daughters, Angela (Brent) Strader; Vicki (Derrick) Max all of Calgary; granddaughters, Katelyn Strader of Edmonton and Victoria Strader and Kristi Max, of Calgary. He is also survived by his brother, Bob (Mae) Shea of Bragg Creek; twin sister, Pat Shea of Ladner, BC; brother-in law, George (Barb) Bolton; sister-in law, Shirley (Roy) Nourse of Calgary; along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 – 34th Street S.W.) on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
