Obituary of Felix Poucette
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Felix Poucette (Se-na Billy) (Yazobi Gichibi – Whistle Carrier), he was called home by our Creator on October 4, 2008 at the age of 77 years.
Felix is survived by his loving wife Christina of fifty three years; his children, Marvin (Marilyn), Sanford and Agnes (Vince) Abraham; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his Siblings, Georgie (John) Mark, Florence, Pauline (J.R), Irene and Helmer Twoyoungmen; and numerous extended family and friends.
His career highlights include traveling to France in 1974 which gave him the opportunity to visit his late brothers grave Joe Poucette, who was killed in action in WWII. Felix enjoyed and was proud of being part of the Calgary Stampede as Teepee holder for over 37 years. He was a member of council for 26 years and acted as Chief of the Good Stoney (Wesley) Band for one year. His past times and hobbies include, hunting, trapping, guiding, baseball and hockey. Felix was educated at the Morley residential School then S.A.I.T., which he was trained in journeyman carpentry and Indian Oil and Gas.
He is predeceased by; mother Jennie Poucette; father Morley Twoyoungmen; brothers Noah, Joe, Peter and Lawrence; sisters Evelyn, Mary Madeline, Annie and Cora. He is also survived by the following relatives, from the Poucette, Cecil, House, Hunter, Big Stony, Good Stoney, Twoyoungmen, Brown, Bearspaw, Snow, Rabbit, Baptiste, Ear from Morley, Cutarm and Deschamps families of Hobbema. The family apologize if they have missed anyone.
Wake Services will be held at the residence of Marvin Big Stony (Morley, AB) on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 9, 2008. Funeral Services will be held at Morley Gymnasium (Morley, AB) on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Wesley Cemetery (Morley, AB).
