Obituary of Joseph Ambrose McAvoy
Joe McAvoy passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Foothills Hospital at the age of 78 years.
Joe was a generous and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He spent his entire career working for Dupont Canada. He worked in the chemical lab while living in his hometown of Kingston Ont. as well sales department while living in both Calgary and Vancouver.
Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years Paula, his children; Diane (Tim) Wilkin of Kingston Ont., Greg (Janice), Tim (Kathy) of Calgary and Lois (Bob) Stevenson of Comox, BC. as well as his grandchildren Geoffrey, Leslie, Mark, Christine, Dana, Steven, Jessica, and Elizabeth. He his also survived and remembered by his sisters Rita and Doris McAvoy of Kingston Ont. Joe was predeceased by his son Peter, brother Frank and sisters Francis and Marion (Tom).
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church (711 – 37th Street N.W.) on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church (711 – 37th Street N.W.) on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
