Obituary of Sitting Eagle

Andrew, beloved son of Henry Backfat of Siksika Nation, passed away on September 19, 2008 at the age of 25 years. Andrew was a fun, easy-going man. His love of life was outdoors and playing our traditional stick games. He had many friends that loved his easy-going personality. He also had a passion for his love of Christ. He was always ready to attend Bible Studies and Church. In his youth, he accepted Jesus as his Saviour attending Sunday School. Andrew is survived by his father, Henry Backfat (Stephanie Eugene), brother Simon Sitting Eagle (Belinda Eugene), Grandmother Florence Backfat, special friend Jocelyn White Eagle and numerous uncles, aunties, cousins and friends. Andrew was predeceased by his mother, Shirley Sitting Eagle, brother Lanny Sitting Eagle, grandmother Mary Sitting Eagle and grandfathers Henry Backfat Sr. and Simon Sitting Eagle Sr. Wake services will be held at the Little Chicago Community Centre, Siksika Nation on Friday, September 26, 2008 commencing at 3:00 p.m. Memorial Services will be held at the Little Chicago Community Centre on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. In living memory of Andrew Sitting Eagle, a tree will be planted at Siksika Nation by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Eastside Memorial Chapel, 5388 MEMORIAL DRIVE N.E.
