Obituary of Ivy Marguerite Sefton
Marguerite Sefton of Crossfield passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Bethany Care Centre, on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the age of 97 years. Marguerite was born on October 14, 1910 to William and Jennie Todd in Nanton, AB, was raised on the farm and attended school in Kirkcaldy, AB. She met and married George L. Sefton and together they farmed N.E. of Crossfield from 1939. Marguerite actively participated in the Crossfield community, Crossfield Rebecca Lodge, East Crossfield Red Cross, and enjoyed her membership with the Crossfield Golden Key Singers. Marguerite loved her garden, flowers, nature, animals, sewing and knitting, but most of all her devotion and love was for her family. She had a true interest in each of us, as a mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunty and friend. Marguerite will be lovingly remembered by her sons Glen of Crossfield, Keith (Joyce) of Grande Prairie, Norman (Jean) of Water Valley; her daughters Joanne (Graham) Waldenberger of Calgary, Janice (Reo) Van Maarion of Rocky Mountain House; as well as ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Geordie in 1993, her eldest son Billie in 1947, grandson Kenny in May 1970 and her three sisters Elsie, Zella, Winnifred. A Celebration of Marguerite’s Life will be held at the Crossfield United Church (1005 Ross Street, Crossfield, Alberta) on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
