Obituary of Elfrieda Ripley

Elfrieda Ripley beloved wife of Fred Ripley of Calgary, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the age of 68 years. Elfrieda was born in Kronwitten, Germany and immigrated with her family to Canada in 1954. They settled in the Lethbridge area for a short while then moved to Calgary, where Elfrieda has resided since. Elfrieda was employed with Canadian Freightways for some thirty-six years. She was very active with her Church for many years, St. Boniface German Catholic Church, serving as President of the seniors group for eight years. Elfrieda enjoyed gardening and walking her dog Prince. Elfrieda will be lovingly remembered by her husband Fred; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Silke Hartinger; Fred’s son Todd (Jody) Ripley; Fred’s daughter Charmain (Chad) Thurlow; six grandchildren; two sisters, Ingrid (Jack) Gould and Anna (Timo) Zauner; one brother Siegfried (Sheila) Hoelzl; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Anna and Sebastian Hoelzl, and by her brother Sebastian Hoelzl.
