Obituary of Bernard Joseph Lee

Bernard Joseph Lee beloved husband of Gwen, of Calgary passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the age of 86 years. Bernard was born on July 28, 1922 in Rosetown, SK. During World War II Bernard served in the army from 1942 to 1946. After the war Bernard returned to Saskatoon, SK to continue his education at the University of Saskatchewan. In 1951 Bernard married the love of his life Gwen Hogan and they began their life together in Alberta, eventually settling in Calgary. Bernard was the founder of Lee Coring Services, Lee Oilfield Services and Lee Mason Tools, which he was actively involved in until 2002. Bernard loved life to the fullest. He was a kind, loving and generous husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was blessed with good health and loved being surrounded by his family and friends. He and Gwen travelled the world together but his favourite place of all was the peacefulness of his ranch. He also enjoyed spending winters playing golf at his home in Scottsdale, AZ. Christmas and Easter were the highlights of his life as he treasured the visits from his children and grandchildren. Bernard will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Besides his loving wife of 57 years, Gwen, Bernard is survived by his four children Catharine (Tom Wiseman), Mary Ann, Dan (Maryann), Paul (Carolyn); his eight grandchildren, Mark, Julie, Sean, Lee, Christopher, Brady, Patrick, and Morgan; a very special first cousin Robert Stack; sisters Margaret, Anna, and Eileen; as well as many nieces and nephews.
