Obituary of Catherine Harriet Fargey

Our family would like to remember and celebrate the life of Catherine (Kay) Fargey. Mom was born in Dayton, Ohio moving to Turner Valley then to Calgary where she grew up and married Bud in 1939. After the passing of her husband in 1960 she began working for UGG for several years and retired in the early 80’s. Kay was very active in the Confederation Park Seniors Centre and Thorncliffe Greenview Community Centre where she took many extension courses, played cards, danced and entertained. Kay’s greatest joy was her family, watching them grow and become parents to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Remaining to cherish her memory are her children Peter (Gwen) Fargey, Dayle (Dave) Gaskarth; her four grandchildren Carie (Phil) Scott, Jodi (Jim) Whitehead, Dean (Veronica) Gaskarth and Deanne Gaskarth, as well as two great grandchildren Cally & Brady Whitehead. The family would like to extend their thanks to her many friends and long-time neighbors Doreen and Walter for their support and freindship over the years. Our thanks to the staff at the Chinook Hospice and Calgary home care nurses for their kind care during her last few months.
