Obituary of Amy Jean Kjaer
“The ones we love the dearest go home the soonest.”
It is with heartfelt sadness that we say goodbye to “our Amy” who passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the tender age of 21 years.
“A short path that ends in blue sky;
New beginnings bring joy to the eye.”
Amy was born in Calgary on April 10, 1987. She graduated from Lord Beaverbrook Senior High School in 2005. Amy was excited to begin a new chapter of her life which included moving to Medicine Hat to her first apartment, and continuing her academic pursuits. She will always be remembered for her kindness, her gentle spirit, and for her love of animals, music, friends and family. Amy wholeheartedly loved her younger cousins, Cameron and Cole, who were like siblings to her. We know she will always keep a watchful eye out for them. Amy was also passionate about family pets, particularly her beloved “Wheatens”, O’Malley and Meggy.
Amy will be dearly missed by her parents, Mark Kjaer and Laura Jones (Mike Pears); Grandpa and Nana, Richard Jones and Bonnie Jones, Grandpa Ab Allen; and by her aunts and uncles, Tracy Jones and Wayne Andrew, Russell Jones, Lynn and Eric Rippe, and Paul Kjaer all of Calgary, Kim Sandbach of Guelph, ON, David Kjaer and Mary-Anne Malloy of Peterborough, ON; and by cousins, Cameron and Cole Rippe of Calgary, and Shaun (Katrina), Mike, and Eric Sandbach of Peterborough, ON. She will also be forever remembered by all of her extended family, schoolmates, friends, co-workers, and by all those who were touched by Amy’s love. Amy was predeceased by her Grandpa Eric Kjaer, Grandma Betty Allen, and by her cousin Andrew Kjaer.
