Obituary of Rose Schmelke
Rose Schmelke of Calgary passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the age of 94 years.
Rose was born in Leader, SK. She has been a resident of Calgary for many years and had taught piano from her home.
Rose is survived by her son James (Gloria) Rosenau of Borrego Springs, CA; grandchildren Angela Rosenau of San Diego, CA and Suzanne Rosenau of Concorde, CA; Stepson John (Bonnie) Schmelke; grandchildren Alison Schmelke (Paul Haagenson) and Jill (David) Gates, five great grandchildren Ivan, Blythe, Johnny, Mary Rosa and Jessie all of Vancouver, BC; niece Betty Jack, nephew Cecil Briggs, niece June (Bill) Davis all of Calgary, also numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, Orville on October 24, 1998, sister, Amalia Briggs in 1983 and brother Adam Salmeier in 1971.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Wentworth Manor, where Rose resided for the past eleven years.
