Obituary of Elizabeth Mokos

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Mokos (nee Peregovits) on Monday September 1, 2008 at the age of 90 years. Elizabeth was born in Gyor, Hungary and immigrated to Canada in 1957 with her husband Joe, who predeceased her in November 2007. Everyone who knew Elizabeth quickly warmed to her friendly nature, ever-present smile and great sense of humour. She was devoted to her family and close friends who will lovingly remember her kindness and generosity. Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Ilona (Lipot) Ban; sister-in-law, Maria Peregovits; nephew, Tom (Sandy) Peregovits; goddaughter, Elizabeth Szabo; and by their extended family and many friends in Calgary. She is also survived in Hungary by her sister, Margit Takacs; brother-in-law, Ferenc Mokos; sister-in-law, Julianna Mokos; numerous nieces and nephews; their extended families and friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church (819 – 13th Avenue S.W.) on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
