Obituary of La Pietra

Claude La Pietra passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008 at the too young age of 68 years. Claude was born and raised on the Mediterranean coast in France. In September 1962 he married Luce La Pietra. This chic couple and their young daughter moved to Calgary in 1969 to taste Canadian life. Claude spent over twenty-five years working with Canadian Foremost and travelled all over the world with his job. In 1999 he and Luce purchased and for the next seven years, successfully ran Bob’s create-a-frame & gallery. Semi-retired since 2006, Claude continued to restore furniture and put his creative touch on custom picture frames when he wasn’t enjoying extended winter vacations abroad. His vibrant and easy going nature will be missed by all. Most of all, we will miss his kindness, humour and practical jokes that were so much a part of his being. Left with many cherished memories is his loving wife Luce La Pietra; daughter Véronique and son-in-law Chris; and his two adored granddaughters, Nicole and Isabelle. Also mourning his loss are his mother Emma; brother Gerard and wife Catherine; sister Josiane; and numerous relatives and friends. Claude was predeceased by his father Salvatore in 1996.
