Obituary of Fiona E.J. Kaczowka
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Fiona Kaczowka of Calgary announces her peaceful passing on August 26, 2008 at the Sarcee Hospice at the age of 51.
Fiona grew-up with a love for horses, cars and travel. After earning degrees from Edinburgh and Sterling Universities, Fiona immigrated to Canada in 1982 to work as a Chartered Accountant with the Provincial Auditors of Saskatchewan. In 1985 she married Rick and moved to Nipawin, Saskatchewan working for the office of Armstrong and Neumann and starting her family. In 1989, her young family settled in Calgary, to work in her own private practice and with the firm of Robert Campbell C.A. She enjoyed skiing, gardening, reading, curling, traveling, as well as watching and supporting her daughters. With her passing she leaves behind her loving husband Rick, daughters Caitlin and Adelle; her brother David (Pat) Currie; mother-in-law Regina, brother-in-laws Mike (Gail) and Phil Kaczowka and cousins Helen (Marty) Dahl, Lance (Fern) Dyer and Henri (Laura) Golczyk. Also mourning her loss are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends through-out Canada and Scotland. Born in St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland. Fiona was predeceased by her parents John and Elspeth Currie (Urqhart).
A celebration of Fiona’s life will be held at St. Thomas United Church (100 Hawkwood Boulevard N.W.) on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
