Obituary of Albert Earl Moore

Albert Earl Moore passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at the age of 91 years. Earl joined the Westminster Regiment on Sept. 6, 1939, wishing to serve his country in World War II. After his discharge he worked for the Department of National Defence in various positions until his retirement in 1979. He married Joan Horne in 1942 and lovingly shared his life with her until her death in 1999. As a spouse and a father, Earl set the bar high. He has remained in close touch with all his family members, remaining interested in their lives until his last day. Earl will be remembered as a faith filled man with a quiet sense of humour who always looked on the bright side of life. His love of his family, camping, his courage in the face of difficulties and reputation as a gentleman, will long be remembered by all who knew him. Earl is survived by his children, Jim (Jean) Moore, Pat (Laszlo) Jamniczky, Tim Moore, Joe (Linda) Moore; brother Herb (Betty) Moore of Oliver, BC; and by sisters, Rose Fiske of Kelowna, BC and Vivian Summers of Vancouver, BC. Earl is also survived by ten grandchildren and four great-grand children, Ed (Kathy) Moore, Laurie Moore, Samantha (Brad) Bobinski, Heather Jamniczky, Adriana (Jason) Harper, Suzanne (Gene) Vanvliet, Cole (Sheena Carlton) Moore, Michael Moore, Graham Moore, Colin Moore, Dylan Moore, Nicole Moore, Alex Vanvliet and Nathan Vanvliet. Earl is also survived by many nieces and nephews, special friends and neighbours. Earl was predeceased by his wife, Joan in 1999. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
