Obituary of Dezso Meszaros

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Deszo Steve Meszaros on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at the age of 73 years. Dezso was born on February 16, 1935 in Ecsed, Hungary. After having fought in the Hungarian Revolution, he moved to Canada in 1957. He worked as a painter for the Calgary General Hospital and then the Peter Lougheed Hospital before retiring in 1996. Dezso enjoyed walking by the zoo, playing cards, and was passionate about watching sports, particularly watching his son, Steve, play soccer. He is survived by his loving son Steve and wife Shay (Kellaway) and granddaughter Katelyn. Dezso is also survived by his older sisters, Mari and Annus, and younger brother Janos, who still resides in Hungary. He was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth. Dezso will also be fondly remembered by his extended family (Elizabeth, Rick and Natalie) and all his friends at Northpark Terrace. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
