Obituary of Thomas Mark Mahoney

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Mark Mahoney of Calgary on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the age of 53 years. Mark will be deeply missed by his father Bruce Mahoney of Calgary; his brother and sister-in-law Dick and Sheila Mahoney of Andrew, AB; his sister and brother-in-law Claudia and Peter Martin of Toronto, ON; and his four nieces, Jan Armstrong of Calgary, AB; and Mallory, Meredith and Claire Martin, all of Toronto, ON. Mark will also be remembered and deeply missed by a great many friends with whom he worked or played and whose lives were enriched by his friendship. Mark was predeceased by his mother Mary Mahoney in 2006. At the ripe old age of 14, Mark took the initial steps toward a life-long career in the sporting goods industry when he took his first part-time job at The Skiers. He loved the industry and never looked back. Although devoted to his work, he was an accomplished skier and as a young man loved the outdoors whether he was taking photographs, hang gliding, wind surfing or kayaking.
