Obituary of Lee Evans Phillips
PHILLIPS_Lee Evens, passed away on August 7, 2008 at the age of 61 following a brave journey with cancer. Lee was born September 13, 1946 in Vancouver, BC. Lee met Doreen, the love of his life, during high school in Williams Lake, BC and married July 5, 1969. Shortly after starting his family, he moved to Calgary, AB. Lee was a master wood craftsmen and could be found tinkering around the house or working on his collection of automobiles, trailers and campers. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved to fish, hunt and camp. Lee had the true gift to inspire all of us to achieve our greatest potential and will be remembered for his fun, loving sense of humor and as the man who would lend a hand and a heart. Lee’s life was filled with a love for life, family and friends. Lee is survived by his wife, Doreen Phillips; son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Debbie Phillips and grandchildren, Cohen and Milan; daughter, Crystal Phillips; mother, Djynase Aikin; sisters, Debbie Guilbault (Jim) and Cherri Fitzsimmons and their family members; cousin, Larry Coupal (Shirley) and his family; and his brother’s families. He was predeceased by his brother, Pat Phillips. Lee’s wish, in lieu of flowers, is to donate to cancer research to find a cure. Donations can be made to the Alberta Cancer Board (www.cancerboard.ab.ca). A ‘Celebration of Life’ Service will be held at Centre Street Church (3900 – 2 Street NE) on August 15, 2008 at 1:00 PM.
