Bertram Sutherland of St. Vincent and the Grenadines took his place beside his Heavenly Father on Friday, August 1st, 2008 at the age of 75 years. Bert was born to Peter Sutherland and Gertrude Sutherland (nee Marks), and was the third of 10 children. He began his life in Lowman’s Hill, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and then migrated to England where he resided for 16 years. He then moved to Canada where he eventually settled in Calgary, Alberta with his wife Florence Sutherland (nee Wilson). Being a hard working carpenter, he loved creating and bettering things with his hands. He was a family man that always put the welfare of his family and everyone he knew before himself. Bert leaves behind his son Ronald; his daughters Cheryl and Joanne; and his grandchildren Hanisi and Tymani along with his sisters Lillian, Sylvia, Hyacinth, Metalyn, and Cynthia; along with his brothers Dillion, Ian, and Delbert. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Thursday, August 14th, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace.
