Obituary of Leona Rose Wesley

Leona Corinne Wesley passed away suddenly in her sleep on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the age of 36 years. Leona was born on September 13, 1971 in Calgary and was raised on the Stoney Nakoda Reserve. Her sense of humour and friendly attitude will be missed by all who knew her. Leona is survived by her children Joy, Gabriel, Jordanna and Michael, all of whom she loved so dearly; her father Lenny (Corrina); her maternal grandmother Doris Rollinmud; her sisters Cynthia, Trisha (Colin), Aniko (Lee), Lena, and adopted sister Rennetta Simeon; her brothers Lenny Jr. and Cody Blackrabbit. Leona will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, Elaina, BreAnna, Dovey, Isis, Tatum, Kobe, Kneaven Guy, Marco and Kadence. She will be missed by all her numerous extended family and friends from Morley, Eden Valley, Big Horn and Calgary. Leona was predeceased by her mother Corinne, her companions Troy Labelle, and Jordon Ear and her son Moses and brother Andrew, her paternal grandparents Lazarus and Lily Wesley, and her maternal grandfather Sam Powderface. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Lenny Wesley (Morley, AB) on Thursday, July 24 and Friday 25, 2008. Funeral Services will be held at the Morley Gymnasium (Morley, AB) on, Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Chiniki Cemetery (Morley, AB).
