Obituary of Norbert Groos

Norbert Groos of Calgary passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2008 at the age of 81 years after a brief battle with cancer. Norbert was born on December 22, 1926 in Bochum (Germany) he immigrated to Canada in 1955. He was well known and respected in the construction industry. He commenced his career in Calgary with Gunther’s Building Centre Ltd. In 1969 he started operating his own business, Maple Building Supplies Ltd. Supporting the Catholic Church was an important part of his life and he was an active member of St. Boniface Parish. Norbert is survived by his brother, Gerhard and his sister Marianne Groos, both from Germany. He was predeceased by his parents Norbert and Anna and his brother, Gunther. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Boniface German Catholic Church (1923 Broadview Road N.W.) on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Boniface German Catholic Church (1923 Broadview Road N.W.) on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at a later date.
