Obituary of Georgina Rayona Raye SCHULLI

September 20, 1927 – Albany, Prince Edward Island September 26, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Raye Schulli, daughter of the late Raymond and Georgie Cameron (Gillis), passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 after a prolonged period of declining health. Raye was part of the sixth generation of her branch of the Cameron family born in PEI. She had an early education at Albany, PEI School and later at Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown. She moved to Vancouver in 1952, where she met her husband Dick. They were married at St. Mary’s Anglican Church Vancouver in 1956. In 1961 they moved to Toronto with their sons Rick and David. They returned to Vancouver in 1963 and have lived in Calgary since 1966. Raye was an active member of Christ Church, Elbow Park. She was a member of the Altar Guild for thirty-six years and served one term as their president. She was treasurer of the ACW for several years. She particularly enjoyed the friendship of the Thursday morning Bible Study group. Raye also volunteered her time and delivered Meals on Wheels for over twenty-three years. Raye was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling to PEI in the summer to visit family and friends or vacationing at the family condo in West Vancouver. She was a long-time member of the Glencoe Club and the Calgary Golf and Country Club. She is survived by her loving husband Dick; son David (Pauline Turnbull); grandchildren Peter and Leah; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Raye was predeceased by her brothers Ronald Cameron in 1997, Cleyon Cameron in 2006, and her son Rick in 2011. There will be a visitation at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY on Friday October 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church Elbow Park on Saturday October 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Crump Room. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Raye’s family gives sincere thanks to the team of Resident’s Assistants, Nurses, Doctors and other staff at Carewest Garrison Green for the excellent care and attention that she received during the last days of her life.
