Obituary of Robert Orville Leitch

Robert O. Leitch, beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” Leitch of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Bob was born in Fergus Falls, MN. He served in the Canadian Air force as a Warrant Officer (W.A.G) in the Second World War. Bob was the Director of the Land Department for the city of Calgary for twenty-two years. He was also a member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada serving for two consecutive terms as President. In addition he was a Fellow of the American Right of Way. R.O. spent many years volunteering with various organizations including thirty-five years with the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede in the capacity of Senior Associate and Shareholder. Bob will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman. Besides his beloved wife Peggy, Bob is survived by daughter and son-in-law Linda and Maurice McAtamney; son and daughter-in-law Rob and Catherine Leitch; grandfather to Michael (Nadine), Erin and Brina Moriarty; and great-grandfather to Evie. Bob was predeceased by his daughter Leanne. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through .
