Obituary of Josephine Beatrice Harrison

Josephine Beatrice Harrison (last of her generation of the Botter Family) of Calgary passed away on Monday, July 7, 2008 at the age of 91 years. Josephine was born in Medicine Hat, AB on July 11, 1916. She met R.A.F. Sergeant, Bernard Harrison, while he was stationed in Medicine Hat, and married him on August 12, 1942. Josephine worked as a Registered Nurse, from her graduation in 1938 until retiring in 1986, at the age of 70, after forty-eight years of service. She was a proud founding member of the Private Duty Nurses Association. Josephine was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She always loved to further her education and was very well-read. Josephine enjoyed travelling and was very devoted to her family. Josephine is survived by her children Laura (Edward) Connolly, Bernie (Lucille) Harrison, all of Calgary, Christine (Alex) Rownd, of Surrey, BC, and Gwen Rownd, of Hanna, AB, seven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her husband Bernard and her nine brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Thursday July 10, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 – 14th Street S.W.) on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
