Obituary of Frederic Smith

Fred Smith, beloved husband of Ann (Boucher) of Calgary, passed away on Monday June 30, 2008 while out for his morning run near Champion, AB at the age of 69 years. Fred is survived by three adult children, Allen (Debbie) of Lower Sackville, NS, Tanya (Kirk) Leclair of Ottawa, ON, Jim (Cindi) of Victoria, BC; and their mother, Lillian. Papa Fred will be missed by his grandchildren, Chris (Vicki) Smith, Courtney Leclair; and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Victoria Smith. Fred was born in South Chegoggin, NS to Albert Stanford Smith and Gertrude DeEll. Their family of ten children included, James (Rita), Ron (Eunice), Shirley (James) Thomas, Ena Stevens, Bonnie (Gerald) Davis, Eric, Alfie (Cheryl), and Linda (Trevor) Turner. He was the cherished son-in-law of Mrs Freda Boucher. Fred was predeceased by his both his parents; his brother, Clayton; and father-in-law, Vivian Boucher. Fred served from 1955 – 1990 in the Army, Navy and Air Force, and was a proud member of the 2nd “Battalion of the Black Watch.” Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday July 4, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday July 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
