Obituary of Thomas David Holman

Thomas "David" Holman beloved husband of Sarah of Calgary passed away on June 30, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Thomas David Holman, aka "David Astor", was born April 24, 1926, in Vancouver B.C. After graduating UBC with a B.A. in English, David moved to England, where he met and wooed his wife of fifty-nine years, Sarah (nee McCartan). Music and family were his life and his passion. An accomplished and respected opera singer, David travelled the world performing, teaching, and sharing his love for his art. He was "a most extraordinary character!!!" David is survived by his loving wife Sarah; his brother Bruce; his eight children Jane (Gerry), Chris (Elana), David (Pat), Moya (Laurence), Lisa, Grainne, Tim (Marlene) and Denis (Hollie); his sixteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle, N.W.) on Friday, July 4, 2008 at 10:00 am. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
