Obituary of Catharine Schmaltz

Catharine (Cathy) Schmaltz of Calgary passed away on June 30, 2008 at the age of 72 years. Cathy was born in Beiseker, AB on December 22, 1935. She moved to Calgary in 1952 and graduated from the Holy Cross School of Nursing in 1957. Cathy later received her nursing degree from the University of Alberta. She was very athletic and enjoyed curling, skating, golfing and baseball and in later years she took pleasure in watching sports on T.V. She was an avid traveller and especially enjoyed cruising. Cathy is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law Barb Morrison of Calgary, AB, Grace and Hugh Brown of Burnaby, BC and Louise Blacklock and Larry Corneil of Calgary; two sisters-in-law Phyllis Schmaltz of Calgary and Audrey Schmaltz of Edmonton; as well as many nieces and nephews. Cathy was predeceased by two brothers, George in 1977 and Servulus in 1997, and an infant sister. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (4718 Worcester Drive S.W.) on Friday, July 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
