Obituary of Mary Elizabeth McNeill
Mary Elizabeth McNeill passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the Eau Claire Retirement Residence in Calgary, AB.
Mary was born in Northern Ireland in 1913, and married George McNeill in 1934. She moved with her husband and small daughter to Hatfield, England, just before the outbreak of the Second World War and spent many years working at de Havilland Aircraft (later British Aerospace), where she helped build Mosquito fighter-bombers for the Allies during the War. Mary continued to live in Hatfield until she moved to Calgary, AB in 2002.
Mary is survived by her only daughter Elizabeth Munnoch and son-in-law, Keith; four granddaughters, Louise (Marc), Eleanor, Carolyn, and Sandra (Sean); and five great-grandchildren, Gavin, Charlotte, Henry, Alexandra, and Jack. Mary was predeceased by her much loved husband, George in 1986.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (703 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Thursday July 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O.
