Obituary of Henry Harold Ehret
Henry Harold Ehret passed away at the age of 82 years on June 24, 2008 at the Southwood Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Henry is lovingly remembered by his partner and best friend, Ruby Anderson; daughter, Pat (Rob) Davidson; granddaughter, Jaime and grandson, Warren. He will be equally missed by his brother, Carl, his sister, Lorine, several nieces and nephews and a large circle of close and loyal friends. Henry was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Nina in 2001. Henry was born in Sunnyslope, AB on August 2, 1925 and moved to Calgary in 1949 when he married Nina. Henry loved to travel, square dance, round dance, old-time pattern dance, bowl, spend time gardening and volunteer in the community. He worked for Calgary Beverages/Carling O’Keefe Breweries for thirty-seven years, retired at age sixty and had many wonderful years of retirement. Henry and Nina enjoyed many wonderful cruises and trips with family and friends. He and Ruby have had several very special and active years together and have been great companions for one another. Henry’s trademark sense of humour and quick wit had a lasting effect on all those who met him. During his illness, Henry showed great strength, spirit, courage and dignity. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Henry’s life will be held at SALVATION ARMY Berkshire Citadel (222 Sandarac Drive NW) on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Tim Beadle and Major Steven Sears officiating.
