Obituary of Paula Ann Kennedy

Paula was born on September 13th, 1950, and passed away peacefully on June 20th, 2008. Paula is lovingly remembered by her husband, Steve, with whom she had just celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary, and by the rest of her family, with whom she was "related by chance, but friends by choice". Paula was treasured daughter to Dorothy Smith and Charles G. Smith, Q.C.; unbelievable mother to her pride and joy, Carly Shuler and her husband Shane Kozlowich; and much-loved sister of Thomas Smith and Cheryl Sorokin. It would be remiss not to include Paula’s "other daughter", her 9 year-old dog, Kia, who never left her side. Paula is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Rachael, Joel and Sarah Smith, her step-children, Sarah Kennedy and Matt Kennedy, and was a proud Baba to 10-month old Samantha. Paula also touched the hearts of countless friends who were very special to her. Paula was a 25-year cancer survivor. We would like to thank the many doctors and nurses that helped Paula live extraordinarily and die peacefully. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at Temple B’nai Tikvah Synagogue 900- 47th Avenue SW, Calgary. Burial to follow at the Canmore Cemetery.
